OUR HISTORY
"Settimo Cielo is my dream come true.
Like every dream, it required a lot of sacrifices, a lot of commitment and a little bit of madness.
But like every dream, when it comes true, it never costs too much."
Katia Alberti 's story is one of passion, determination, and a love for fabric. From a young age, working for a renowned textile company in Bologna, she developed a deep understanding of materials, specializing in fabrics for upholstery, curtains, and sofas. Yet, something didn't quite satisfy her: seeing those materials exclusively for furnishings wasn't enough. She felt they could transform into something more, come to life in a different way, closer to people.
" Settimo Cielo was born from my passion for fabrics and fashion.
After more than twenty years immersed in Pantone colors, after spending my days among bolts of fabric, on looms, in the weaving room creating fabric variations for my first company, where I learned everything, I decided to open my first shop and try to make my dream come true.
This is how her desire to experiment was born. Katia began designing and making her first clothes, transforming her experience with materials into unique creations. Fueled by enthusiasm, she decided to take the plunge and sell her pieces at the Budrio fairs. Here, fair after fair, she built a small, loyal clientele. She doesn't just sell clothes: she wants to accompany each customer on a bespoke tailoring journey, from choosing the right fabric to achieving the perfect fit. Hours of work and dedication have transformed this experience into a unique method, based on attention to every detail and listening to the needs of those who wear her garments.
" It was an open-air boutique, in the cold, surrounded by people. I had so much fun and discovered I was madly in love with this job. From there, the first leap into the unknown: the first shop on the outskirts, then the big step, the shops in the city center and finally my own production line, Settimo Cielo Laboratorio. I never thought I'd get this far, but I'm stubborn and, as they always tell me, 'I'm a train that doesn't stop.' "
